Rachel Jagnanan is a Sugar Land native. She attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Asian American Studies, with departmental honors. During her time at UT Austin, she was a part of many groups including GraduAsian, Alpha Phi Omega, and the Indian Cultural Association.
In 2015, Rachel graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. In law school she was on the Pittsburgh Tax Journal and received a CALI award for her work in Federal Income Tax. She took part of the Securities Arbitration Moot Court, and her team won the arbitration round in 2014. Another one of her many law school accomplishments, she was a part of the International Law Society and American Bar Association of Judicial Internship Opportunity program.
Rachel became licensed by the State Bar of Texas in 2016. She started her legal career with Chiang Law firm in October 2020. Her primary emphases are family law, estate planning, probate and estate litigation. Rachel is fully committed to guiding her clients through complex legal matters.
Rachel has been a huge asset to her community as an advocate and active volunteer. She has worked with organizations such as the Texas After Violence Project and AmeriCorps.
In Rachel’s free time, she loves to spend time outdoors with her family, cook elaborate Indian and Malaysian meals and volunteer in her community.
